Re: Yesterday
My life isn’t really that exciting…I’ve been workin’ hard or too bored to blog, summit like that…
Handy guide to Oasis forum references:
Inet - The official forum, full of wankers, but usually the first place for new information.
The Soapbox – Insane lunatics! Areas to post about your fav drugs and lots of porn!
Live4Ever – Most polite, and most used to trade/share bootlegs.
The Masterplan – Created out of hatred for all the wankers on Inet and lunatics on The Soapbox, they are the most elitist, exclusive group.
And just opened yesterday, OasisInc – Created by an ex-Inet member who was banned for hooking up a webcam and doing a strip show!
The fun and excitement yesterday is the news of today; four songs off of the new Oasis album leaked online yesterday. Just for the record, only one of them actually allowed links to the new songs – can you guess which one?
Inet shut down, which is usual practice when ANYTHING happens.
The Soapbox allowed people to PM or email links to each other, but the traffic got so heavy the site eventually crashed and was down for most of the day.
The Masterplan maintained their elitism by only sharing with the regulars (= people who post every thought they have in their tiny heads) repeating over and over that no one should be sharing the songs, and then starting multiple threads to discuss the songs that no one is supposed to have heard.
Live4Ever was the coolest about it, also allowing PM’s & email’s to the links, and by being at the right place at the right time, I was *not* led to find them. It was lucky, because I rarely post on any of the sites so it was highly unlikely that anyone would send me anything – there were hordes of people asking and most of the “regulars” on all the sites were not being very forthcoming! Therefore I did *not* share what I had with the good peeps at Soapbox and Live4ever!
So finally today, there is mention of it on NME and in the Sun, the latter actually naming The Soapbox as a source for links. (But for the record, they never actually allowed links.) The Soapbox forum is now closed to anyone who had not registered and posted before all the mayhem happened.
And running parallel to the leaked songs, some shmuck was actually selling 30 CDR’d promo copies of the album on Ebay! He was caught and the auction brought down, so it’s highly unlikely that he actually had time to send the copies out, (much to the dismay of everyone who won!)
(And then I went home early because Erik has infected me with his stupid cold!)
